LAS VEGAS, NV: Republican businesswoman Tera Anderson officially filed to run for Congress in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District, launching a campaign focused on limited government, fiscal discipline, states’ rights, and restoring common sense to Washington.

Anderson, a lifelong conservative and second-generation Nevadan, said her decision to run comes from watching entrenched Washington politicians fail.

“Like President Trump, I’m not a career politician. I’m a grassroots outsider and a proven builder who knows how to get things done. I’m not afraid to take on the system when it’s broken, and I know how to do it.

“I’m a put up or shut up kind of gal.”

“Washington politicians have an utter disregard and lack of respect for our taxpayer dollars,” Anderson said. “Too many of them don’t even do the work. Congress isn’t a country club and it shouldn’t be a retirement plan. Every day wasted under Susie Lee’s weak leadership is a lost opportunity.”

Anderson continued: “I believe in putting America First, lowering taxes and costs, restoring energy independence, securing our borders, and making homeownership possible again.”

Anderson also spoke about her support for Title IX. “As a former collegiate volleyball player, protecting women’s sports isn’t just a talking point. For me, it’s personal."

Longtime Nevada Roots

Running for Congress is not the first time Anderson has dedicated herself to her community. She served as President of the City of Las Vegas Neighborhood Association, was a volunteer advocate for foster children, and served as a Board Trustee for both the CASA Foundation and the Public Education Foundation. She has also volunteered with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Homeland Security and is a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Las Vegas program.

“Anyone looking to represent Nevada should truly know Nevada,” Anderson said. “I believe no one in this race understands our state and our communities better than I do. We need real workhorses in Washington who understand our issues, not empty suits.”

Endorsements

Anderson is endorsed by former Clark County Commissioner Bruce Woodbury, former Nevada Gaming Commissioner Joe Brown, and former Nevada Governor Bob List, who said, “Tera has a proven record of cutting through the noise and delivering for people.”

She also recently received the endorsement of Pawn Stars creator and Las Vegas businessman Rick Harrison, who said, “I’ve built my business on being able to separate the fakes from the real deal. I’m here to tell you: Tera is the real deal.”
